What will you do as a Lead Developer Python?
At Ortec Finance, we help financial institutions make better investment and risk decisions through advanced models and technology. Our Economic Scenario Generator is one of our core solutions — a sophisticated simulation framework that produces consistent, data-driven projections of economic and financial variables. These scenarios support our clients in strategic decision-making, risk management, and long-term financial planning.
Why do we need a Lead Developer Python?
The Scenario Analysis & Valuation (SAV) department at Ortec Finance is accelerating its innovation roadmap by developing the next generation of our Economic Scenario Generator – in Python! To help and enable the team responsible, we’re looking for a highly experienced Lead Python Developer to spearhead the development of our next generation Economic Scenario Generator. The team collaborates closely with quantitative financial analysts, to translate complex mathematical models into robust, flexible, production-grade software. As Lead Developer Python, you will enable and guide the quantitative financial developers and analysts to design and build robust, production-grade software together.

The salary range is between 90k and 110k EUR on yearly basis (including variable pay, 13th month, holiday allowance) for a 40-hour workweek, depending on your role, competency profile and experience.

Who are you?
As Lead Developer Python, you are a team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You have a proactive attitude, and you enjoy mentoring others; growing a development team excites and motivates you! With your result orientated and energetic mindset, you can inspire everyone to get the best out of themselves. You have a sound understanding of mathematics and data science, and you have proven yourself with cloud platforms (such as Azure), SQL and modern DevOps practices. You understand and are comfortable working in a context-low working culture. And of course, you recognize yourself in our core values.
In addition, the following aspects are important:
- Bachelor+ degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience, including experience in technical lead roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python and its ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy)
- Excellent understanding of software architecture (generally, as well as Python specific), design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
- Interest or background in quantitative finance, econometrics, or stochastic modeling is a strong plus.
